Hi, welcome to our blog. My name is Lee and I will be one of the contributors in this exploration of Austin. I have lived in Austin all of my life, well most of it at least. Moved to California shortly after I was brought into this world and stayed just enough time to wear out a rattle or two. I’ve been back long enough to remember the old drive-in theater on Burnet road and the Armadillo world headquarters downtown. Granted I was just a child, but I have fond memories of running around outside, listening to the tunes filtering from the music hall and hanging out with the adults drinking their Lone Stars. For those of you that know of such places it will give you an idea of the time span that I grew up here. I’ve seen some changes for sure and have been fortunate enough to explore most of it’s nooks and crannies along the way. Hopefully I can give some insight to what things were like growing up in Austin from time to time.
Our primary focus for this blog is going to be food centric. We intend to bring you our thoughts on restaurants (from the grungy dives to the new and upscale), coffee shops, food happenings, farmer’s market finds, wine trips in the hill country and much, much more. Join us on quests to find the perfect patio spot to sip on that ice cold pint of beer or where to get the spiciest Mexican Martini. We are going to stir up some debate as well. Who really has the best barbeque in town? Since it seems to be a hot topic right now, just where can you get that perfect cupcake? Is it out of an Airstream or not…Hmmm
We hope you enjoy and if there is anything you would like to see covered, please let us know!
~Lee

Hi Lee,
I just found your blog and love the feel of it. I’m a homegrown Austinite too and wouldn’t have it any other way!
We (Paula Biehler and myself) work with several restaurants in Austin and would love to include you on our Austin Food Blog list.
Check out our website at http://www.paulabiehler.com and let me know if you are interested in receiving restaurant happenings around town and other foodie fun information.
Thanks and looking forward to following you blog.
I lived in Austin for ten months. It is a nice and quite city but getting around the city on a bus is very difficult. And it is so hot there.
