This weekend a flash mob event took place at the flagship Whole Foods store on Lamar. Flash Mob Austin coordinated the event and it sounds like there were 200 – 300 participants. I bet it would have been a sight to see. We had just missed it as we were very near Whole Foods around the time this took place. This was probably inspired by the flash freezing events put on around the globe by the Improve Everywhere group. See their Grand Central Station video first to get an idea what the Whole Foods event would have looked like if it were filmed in the same fashion.
According to wikipedia, a flash mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse.
Pretty Great! I bet it would be fun to participate in something like this.
